Microtonality

manifested on the landmark 2002 CD release 29 Pieces For The Microtonal Guitar Live at Knitting
Factory New York. Internationally acclaimed guitar virtuoso, composer, bandleader and veteran music
educator Sten Hostfalt and NYC Guitar Studio offers microtonal instruction. Mainly through custom
techniques for practical application and interpretation of microtones on the standard 6-string / 12 fret guitar.

Contrary to rather common beleif - the actual instrument at hand is not what makes any music microtonal or not.
But rather the ear and skill of the player does. Consequently players of any and all instruments are welcome
to study microtonality with Sten Hostfalt and at NYC Guitar Studio. However in this case ( if on other instrument
than the guitar ), note that ear training is the focus and that in addition, the technical adjustements necessary
to perform microtones ideally should be shown by someone highly skilled on the instrument.
